ProductsSoftware and sample databases are provided free of charge. UPDATE - Download the latest version of RainPlot executable (April 2005)NOTE: This is only for existing installations. Please install the entire software package (see the next section below), including a previous version of the executable, before updating to this version.
Download and Install the RainPlot SoftwareThe installation process has been greatly simplified from the previous version. Just follow these easy steps: (NOTE: If you use Windows 95, 98, or ME you may need to install the Windows installer prior to using the msi file. Required DatabasesThree databases are needed for use with the RAIN software programs ("rainfall", "rainfall_stats", and "rainmap_stats"). These databases must be in the proper format (tables and fields) and must be set as 'System DSNs' on your computer before the RAIN software may be used. The installation package will create these DSN's for you. Download MDAC FileThis file is for loading to computers that use NT or Windows 98 operating systems. "MDAC_typ.exe file" (7.8 MB Zipped....Jan 28, 2003) Download National Weather Service Report on Rainfall Intensity Isohyetal Maps"NWS rpt for eastern us" (2.4 MB Adobe Acrobat file) RAINPLOT, RAINDIGITIZER, and RAINSHARE are custom Visual Basic programs
that represent a complete solution for digitizing, storing, analyzing,
reporting, mapping, and sharing rainfall-intensity data. The programs
were developed as part of the Regional Water Data Banks (exact-me.org)
project on Rainfall Intensity and are a U.S. contribution to the Multilateral
Working Group on Water Resources, Middle East Peace Process. The source
code was developed by the University of Central Florida (UCF) Department
of Engineering Technology (www.cecs.ucf.edu),
the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) (www.usgs.gov),
and project staff from the Middle East. It is maintained as an open source
resource by the Department of Engineering Technology, UCF and the International
Water Resources Branch, USGS (Reston). |
