Create a User DSN to Connect to a Remote Oracle Database
Before setting up the DSN 1. Net8 must be installed and working on the machine that will access
the remote data. Setting up the DSN You will be creating a USER DSN. This allows the application to be run on your system to connect to the remote data. 1. In Control Panel select Administrative Tools
2. In Administrative Tools Select Data Sources (ODBC)
3. Select the User DSN Tab and Click Add
4. If you have installed Net8, then you will see Oracle in your installed Oracle Home Directory
5. From This screen you can easily Set up the DSN. That is the name you will assign locally to the connection (it can be the same as the TNS Alias). Click OK and now you can connect.
