| ABSTRACT: | The report discussed the low rainfall areas, their importance, the Jordanian Government’s concern for these areas, and the problems of development encountered. The report included a description of the existing situation, an analysis of constraints to development, and other issues and sectoral considerations. Strategic guidelines to development and national planning are discussed in the light of the need for a development strategy for the low rainfall area. A description of sectoral components and recommendations which were made for a long-term multi-faceted strategy leading to rational range management plan is also covered by the report. |
